AfterGlow is a handcrafted wall-mounted light sculpture that brings together natural form and light in a way that feels both sculptural and atmospheric.
Built from locally gathered Utah driftwood, this one-of-a-kind piece preserves the raw movement and character of the wood while adding a clean, modern wall-wash effect from behind. By day, AfterGlow stands on its own as a striking organic form. When illuminated, the concealed rear lighting creates a soft halo around the piece, giving it a floating presence and turning the wall itself into part of the display.
Built for Longevity
The rear lighting system is housed in aluminum U-channel and paired with a diffuser to support cleaner light output and long-term performance. Lights are rated for approximately 40,000 hours of use. To maximize LED life, it is recommended to turn the lights off when not in use.
Installation
AfterGlow mounts using two screws and a dual-keyhole hanging system. Proper screw size, anchor type, spacing, and screw-head depth matter for a secure fit. Heavy-duty drywall anchors are recommended when mounting outside of studs.

Materials: Locally gathered Utah driftwood, likely boxelder maple, with integrated rear LED lighting set into aluminum U-channel and paired with a light diffuser for smoother wall-wash illumination. Natural cracks and voids are selectively reinforced with epoxy to preserve the form while supporting long-term durability. Mounted using a balanced dual-keyhole hanging system designed to float the piece approximately 2 inches off the wall.
Finish: Finished with Danish oil to enrich the natural grain, sealed with a UV-resistant clear coat for added protection, and completed with a hand-applied beeswax top coat for warmth and depth.
