Emberline

Emberline is a 49 inch tall artisanal table lamp defined by the raw, sculptural force of nature. It is a one-of-a-one piece I crafted from a single, continuous segment of naturally weathered driftwood. I selected this specific piece for its powerful vertical lines, intricate natural cracks, and profound character, telling a story of elemental exposure that cannot be mass-produced.

The defining feature of this lamp is the extended, 10 inch natural finial that rises prominently above the lampshade. This intentional design choice creates the striking illusion that the driftwood runs uninterrupted from the base, through the shade, and ascends into the space above, emphasizing its organic vertical form.

I've embraced the wood’s history by reinforcing its natural cracks with a bold, red stabilizing epoxy. This technique adds contrast and architectural stability while highlighting the wood's complex grain. The wiring is routed through a hidden channel I drilled directly through the center of the wood, ensuring the cord remains invisible and never distracts from the piece's raw silhouette.

This lamp is finished with a meticulous coat of beeswax and a protective UV resistant clear coat, which simultaneously deepens the grain and creates a durable, touchable surface. It arrives ready to define your space, resting on a weighted base for added stability.
