Fenceline

Fenceline is a one-of-a-kind table lamp built from weathered Utah-sourced wood, finished by hand and reworked into functional sculpture. Rising 36 inches from base to finial, it’s your classic table lamp height while standing apart in nearly every other way.

The body of the lamp shows the wood’s history clearly, it was at one time likely part of a pasture fence, then spent years as driftwood before being recovered from the lake shore. You can easily see Fenceline’s natural cracks, cavities, and old insect tracing preserved as part of the character. Those voids were reinforced and filled with vivid green epoxy, adding both structural stability and a bold visual contrast that runs throughout the piece. The result feels rugged, graphic, and unmistakably custom.

One of its defining features is the extended wood finial, which continues above the shade to create the look of one uninterrupted form. Combined with the cylindrical body and clean drum shade, it gives the lamp a sculptural silhouette that feels both grounded and refined.

The cord is drilled internally through the center of the wood for a cleaner presentation, and the lamp is built on a weighted metal base finished in a burnished brown, hammered texture for added stability and a more finished, elevated look. It includes the lampshade shown, a brown fabric-wrapped cord, and a pull-chain switch with a custom green accent.

Finished with Danish oil and a protective gloss lacquer topcoat, this piece brings out the grain, deepens the color, and adds a subtle sheen while helping protect the surface. Each lighting component is new, and the hardware used is UL-listed.

This is artisan lighting with history still visible in the material, reclaimed in spirit, rebuilt by hand, and made to be noticed.
