About the maker

Smithereens is a one-person studio led by Skyler in Utah.

The name Smithereens reflects the heart of the work: taking what is overlooked, weathered, or ordinary and shaping it into something with presence.

Before starting Smithereens, I spent my career in HR and business operations. I brought that same discipline into the workshop, where every piece is handled carefully from design and carving to sanding, finishing, wiring, packing, and shipping.

Nothing here is rushed or mass-produced.

Each piece is built to look as good in person as it does online.

Important note about variation

Each Illuminated Hardwood Relief is made individually. Because real wood is used, grain, color, tone, and small details will vary from piece to piece.

That is part of the point.

You are not buying a factory copy. You are buying a one-of-one hardwood wall sculpture built around the same design concept.

Installation

Each piece includes a French cleat mounting system designed to make installation clean and secure.

The cleat on the sculpture comes pre-installed. You will install the matching wall cleat, preferably into studs when possible, then hang the piece onto the cleat.
